Student Fee Exemption or Concession

You are only permitted to receive an exemption or concession towards one qualification per calendar year.


FULL EXEMPTION: Applies for each year of study.
EXEMPTION & CONCESSION: You are entitled to an exemption for the first year and a concession fee of $240 for subsequent years. 


Evidence to Support your Application: You must attach 1 relevant form of evidence to be entitled to a concession listed above
  • A current letter from Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs confirming that you are currently receiving the stated allowance.  
  • Your current Pensioner Concession Card.  
  • Austudy approval for 2012. 
  • A current Centrelink Income Statement 
  • Evidence that the benefit provider accepts you as the dependent child, spouse or partner of a beneficiary receiving a benefit or allowance. 
NOTE: A Centrelink Health Care Card is not acceptable proof of current beneficiary status.

I am aware of and understand the conditions required to enrol into the Traineeship Program and I hereby declare that:
  • I am not enrolled in Secondary or Tertiary Education 
  • The residency status I have claimed within the enrolment form is true and correct     
  • I have received a student handbook and I have been fully informed of MTC Australia's policy and procedures. 
  • I will abide by the terms, fees and conditions as set out in the student handbook 
  • If there is a Service Agreement specifically specifying fees and charges within the schedule of the contract then these fees and charges will over ride fees and charges specified in the student handbook. 
  • I have been fully informed about the units of competency to be undertaken 
  • I consent to MTC Australia to verify or supply information about me to State & Federal Government Agencies, Apprenticeship Network Provider and/or Agencies authorised by these bodies.  
  • I have discussed with an MTC Australia representative RPL options available in order to undertake this qualification/course 
  • I consent to information being supplied to the National Centre for Vocational Studies (NCVER) and/or agencies authorised to undertake surveys.  
  • If I am an employee, I also consent to MTC Australia verifying information about me from or supplying it to my employer.  
  • The information I have given is true and correct. 
  • I understand that evidence I provide with my application will need to be verified. 
  • I consent to MTC Australia obtaining personal information necessary to complete or verify my application. 
  • I understand that MTC Australia will not accept responsibility for incorrectly completed forms.

Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012, MTC Australia is required to collect personal information (information or an opinion about me), collected from me, my parent or guardian, such as my name, Unique Student Identifier, date of birth, contact details, training outcomes and performance, sensitive personal information (including my ethnicity or health information) and other enrolment and training activity-related information (together Personal Information) and disclose that Personal
Information to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER).

My personal Information (including the personal information contained on my enrolment form
and my training activity data) may be used or disclosed by MTC Australia for statistical, regulatory and research purposes. MTC Australia may disclose my personal information for these purposes to third parties, including:
  • School if you are a secondary student undertaking VET, including a school-based
    apprenticeship or traineeship.
  • Employer if you are enrolled in training paid by my employer.
  • Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorised agencies, including the NSW Department of (Department);

  •       NCVER;

  • Organisations conducting student surveys; and
  • Researchers.
Personal information disclosed to NCVER may be used or disclosed for the following purposes:
  • Issuing a VET Statement of Attainment or VET Qualification, and populating Authenticated VET Transcripts;
  • facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys;
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
  • administering VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation.
I may receive an NCVER student survey which may be administered by an NCVER employee, agent or third-party contractor. I may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.

NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose my Personal Information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the VET Data Policy and all NCVER policies and protocols (including those published on NCVER’s website at www.ncver.edu.au).

The Department may disclose my personal Information to other Australian government agencies, including those located in States and Territories outside New South Wales.

The above government agencies may use my personal Information for any purpose relating to the exercise of their government functions, including but not limited to the evaluation and assessment of my training, the determination of my eligibility to receive subsidised training or for any Fee Exemptions or Concessions. My personal Information may also be disclosed to other third parties if required by law.

I also acknowledge and agree that the Department may contact me by telephone email or post during or after I have ceased subsidised training with MTC Australia for the purposes of evaluating and assessing my subsidised training. You declare that the information I have provided to the best of my knowledge is true and correct.
